Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has been discharged from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi, the hospital confirmed on Tuesday. She was admitted to the multi‑specialty facility on the night of 24 March after developing a high fever and was treated for a systemic infection with antibiotics. The medical team said she has responded well to treatment and is now in good health.

According to the hospital’s Chairman, Dr. Ajay Swaroop, Sonia Gandhi was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital at 10:22 pm on 24 March due to fever. During her stay, she was monitored by a team headed by Dr. D. S. Rana, Dr. S. Nandy, and Dr. Arup Basu, who prescribed antibiotics to manage the systemic infection. The hospital stated that she showed good clinical improvement and was ultimately deemed fit for discharge the morning of 31 March, so that further care and follow‑up can continue at home.

Doctors treating her described her condition as stable and emphasized that she is now fully recovered from the acute infection episode. The hospital added that Sonia Gandhi will continue her treatment and regular health monitoring on an outpatient basis, in line with the advice given at the time of discharge.
