New Delhi, 30 March (H.S.):

India's Lok Sabha adjourned until 1230pm on Monday amid chaos from opposition MPs demanding debate on the West Asia crisis and LPG shortage during the budget session's second phase.

Speaker Om Birla started proceedings with Question Hour where ministers laid answers on the table before opposition protests erupted.

Rijiju Urges Agenda Focus

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju appealed for calm noting Prime Minister had flagged firm action on left-wing extremism with Home Minister set to respond today.

He added the PM took suo motu notice on the energy crunch issuing a detailed statement while the budget speech covered LPG issues assuring further discussion if needed but priority to listed business.

Persistent din from opposition benches led Birla to suspend the house till 1230pm.
