New Delhi, 30 March (H.S.):
The Delhi High Court on Monday ordered protection of storyteller Aniruddhacharya's personality rights ruling that no content featuring him can be used without his consent.
Justice Tusar Rao Gavde's bench made clear criticism is fair game but stressed figures like Adi Shankaracharya settled debates through discourse not defamation suits placing such voices above petty critique.
Aniruddhacharya's counsel highlighted his name photos and AI-generated videos being exploited on satta gaming apps to falsely depict him endorsing activities.
The court joins prior orders shielding celebrities like Mohanlal Gautam Gambhir Acharya Balakrishna Sonakshi Sinha Baba Ramdev Kajol Vivek Oberoi Pawan Kalyan Sunil Gavaskar Salman Khan Ajay Devgn Jaya Bachchan Sudhir Chaudhary Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Nagarjuna Aishwarya Rai Abhishek Bachchan and Karan Johar from unapproved use of their personas.
