
Mumbai, 27 Mar (HS): Five persons have been arrested
on Friday for issuing fake entry passes to Vidhan Bhavan during the budget
session, which concluded Wednesday. The accused include two workers at
Mantralaya and two at Vidhan Bhavan. Marine Drive police are investigating into
the case.
According the accused Dattatreya Gunjal (53) the
fake entry pass had mentioned that the pas holder was working as advisor at the
Chief Minister’s office. Besides Gunjal, peon Ganpat Bhau Jawale (50), Ganesh
Shivaji Patil (42), clerk Manoj Anand Morbale (40) and Swapnil Ramesh Tayde
(40) have been arrested. Two more accused Mahesh Dampalwar and Lavesh Shankar
Nakate are absconding.
The entry rules were stricter after getting threat
of blasting the Vidhan Bhavan. MLA Amol Mitkari raised the issue of issuing
fake entry passes for Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000. Industries Minister Uday Samant had
directed the officers concerned to enquire into the issue. Following enquiry Marine
Drive Police arrested five accused in this case and are investigating further.
