March (HS): Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Friday
attended the closing ceremony of the Late Radhika Singh Memorial State-Level
Women's Cricket Tournament held at the Sage Cricket Academy in Gomtinagar,
Lucknow, to encourage women players. Observing the tournament, he praised the
players' excellent performance and said that today, daughters are scaling new
heights in the field of sports. Meeting the players, he wished them a bright
future and instilled new energy and confidence in them.
At the
beginning of the program, the Deputy Chief Minister paid floral tribute to the
late Radhika Singh and paid her heartfelt tribute. He said that such events not
only provide a platform for talents but also give a new direction to women's
empowerment in society. Highlighting the importance of sports in his address, the
Deputy Chief Minister said that sports are not only a means of physical and
mental development, but also develop discipline, team spirit, and leadership
skills.
He said
that the state government is continuously committed to the development of
sports and encouragement of athletes, and special efforts are being made to
promote female athletes. Praising the tournament organizer, BJYM State General
Secretary Harshvardhan Singh, he said that such events strengthen the sports
culture in the state and provide opportunities for new talents to emerge. MLA
Asha Maurya and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
