Guwahati, 27 March (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday issued a strong rebuttal to remarks made by AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal, asserting that his government will continue to act firmly against illegal infiltration in the state.

Referring to the past five years of governance, the Chief Minister said that strict measures had already been taken and warned that even stronger action would follow in the coming years. His remarks came in response to Ajmal’s recent statement challenging the Chief Minister.

Sarma was addressing an election rally in Bihpuria, where he campaigned in support of BJP candidate Bhupen Bora. During the rally, he expressed confidence that the constituency would witness accelerated progress following the party’s renewed mandate.

Speaking on the occasion, Bora said that Bihpuria is poised for a major transformation, claiming that development in the next five years would be four times greater compared to the progress made over the past decade.-----------
