27 March (HS): Chief Minister and Gorakshapeethadhiswar Yogi Adityanath, who
has immense respect for the mother power and has taken forward many programs
for their safety, respect and self-reliance, performed Kanya Pujan as per the
tradition of Gorakshapeeth on Friday on the Navami Tithi of Vasantik (Chaitra)
Navratri. In the Kanya Pujan ritual organized in the Anna Kshetra of Gorakhnath
Temple as part of the rituals of Navami Tithi, Chief Minister Yogi washed the
feet of nine Durga Swaroopa virgin girls, worshipped them as per the rituals,
covered them with a scarf, performed aarti, fed them with devotion and took
their blessings by giving Dakshina and gifts. Following the tradition, the
Chief Minister also performed Batuk Pujan.
On Friday
morning, in the ritual of the Navami Tithi of Vasantik Navratri,
Gorakshapeethadhiswar first washed the feet of the unmarried girls and applied
tilak of roli, sandalwood, Akshat etc. on their forehead. He anointed them with
Durva, garlanded them. By covering them with chunari and giving dakshina-gifts,
he took blessings. He also performed aarti of all the unmarried girls and boys
in the Anna Kshetra with devotion. After the puja, Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath served these girls fresh food prasad cooked in the temple kitchen
with his own hands. After the puja, all the girls who came to the event were
given chunari, dakshina and gifts.
Apart from
the girls, the boys who had come in large numbers were also fed with devotion
and given gifts and Dakshina. During this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also
kept on taking care that there should not be any shortage of food prasad in the
plate of any girl or boy. Regarding this, he kept on giving instructions to the
people associated with the management of the temple. On the occasion of the
Kanya Pujan ritual, Chief Priest of Gorakhnath Temple Yogi Kamalnath along with
many saints and people associated with the temple management were present. In
the morning worship session before the Kanya Pujan, Maa Siddhidatri was
worshipped with due rituals in the Shaktipeeth of the temple.
