
Jammu, 25 March (H.S.): Continuously expanding organizational work in Jammu & Kashmir, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has increased its number of Shakhas in the region from 678 to 735 in the last one year.
“At present, 394 weekly Shakhas are being conducted in the region, and Sangh Mandalis are active at 407 locations in J&K while in addition to this, 137 weekly meetings are also being held for the Swayamsevaks above 40 years of age,” informed Prant Sanghchalak, Dr Gautam Mengi and Prant Seh Sanghchalak, Dr Vikrant Sharma, during a press conference here today while highlighting significant subjects discussed in the three-day Akhil Bhartiya Pratinidhi Sabha, held from March 13 to 15 March at Samalkha in Haryana.
Dr Gautam Mengi said that the Akhil Bhartiya Pratinidhi Sabha witnessed detailed discussions on the subjects such as expansion of organizational work, active participation of the virtuous forces of society in national interest, and social harmony.
He said that the number of RSS Shakhas across the country has increased by nearly six thousand, reaching 88,949, and the number of locations has crossed 55,000. Additionally, he added there has been growth in weekly gatherings and Mandali activities.
“Along with organizational expansion, the RSS is also working towards qualitative improvement in society. Through the initiative of ‘Panch Parivartan’, society is being inspired towards positive transformation. To achieve this objective, virtuous elements of society are being organized and activated in the national interest,” he said.
Dr Gautam Mengi informed that the Pratinidhi Sabha has decided to organize various programs on the occasion of 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Ravidas Ji in the coming year. Society will be encouraged to actively participate in these programs and organize such events independently, he added.
Listing major programs organized in the region under the centenary year of RSS, Dr Vikrant Sharma informed that a ‘Griha Sampark Abhiyan’ (home outreach campaign) was conducted in J&K from November 2, 2025 to November 30, 2025, during which contact was established with over 4,93,065 families and more than 11,000 workers participated in this campaign.
“To promote organization and social harmony, 745 Hindu Sammelans were organized across various locations in J&K from December 1, 2025 to January 11, 2026. Approximately 2, 37,236 men and over 1, 64,000 women participated in these events. The number of volunteers in organizing these events was 8, 522,” he said.
