Mathura, 21
March (HS): President, Droupadi Murmu, was completely immersed in the spiritual
energy of Braj Bhoomi on Saturday morning. Upon reaching Govardhan, she began
the seven-kosi Parikrama of Giriraj Maharaj barefoot, conveying a unique
message of devotion, faith, and simplicity. The President was accompanied by her
family.
Before
beginning the Parikrama, President Murmu arrived at the Danghati Temple and
performed the ritualistic worship of Giriraj Ji and offered milk. During this,
the entire atmosphere resounded with chants of Giriraj Maharaj ki
Jai! Amid tight security and arrangements, the President proceeded along
the Parikrama route in a golf cart, accompanied by Agra Division Commissioner
Nagendra Pratap. Governor Anandiben Patel, Cabinet Minister Laxmi Narayan
Chaudhary, District In-charge Minister Sandeep Singh, and Govardhan MLA
Meghshyam Singh rode in another golf cart.
The towns
of Govardhan and Radhakund were decorated like a bride for the President's
arrival. Grand arches were erected at various places, and locals showered
flowers to welcome her. The President accepted greetings with folded hands and
waved, which elicited great emotion and enthusiasm from the people. During
this, the President also planted a tree, spreading the message of environmental
protection.
School
children, dressed in traditional attire, welcomed her, while students from
Sanskrit schools, with chants and welcome songs, filled the atmosphere with
spirituality. Devotees and local citizens were delighted to see the special
cleanliness and arrangements made along the entire Parikrama route, in
Govardhan, and in Radhakund town. District Magistrate CP Singh personally
oversaw the arrangements, closely monitoring every detail. It is noteworthy
that President Draupadi Murmu arrived in Mathura on the evening of March 19.
After completing the darshan, puja, and parikrama at Govardhan, she will depart
for New Delhi today. While the President's spiritual visit to Brajbhoomi
garnered praise for the administrative preparations, it also witnessed a
remarkable confluence of devotion and enthusiasm among the devotees.
