Lucknow, 20 March (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has established a women's PAC battalion in Badaun, as well as the Mission Shakti program for women, to commemorate the indomitable courage of Rani Avantibai Lodhi, a freedom warrior from 1857.

Adityanath paid respect to Rani Avantibai on her martyrdom day (March 20), describing her contributions as a symbol of patriotism. CM Yogi has built women PAC battalions named after Rani Avantibai Lodhi, Uda Devi, and Jhalkari Bai. To honour the heroic queen Rani Avantibai Lodhi, the Yogi administration recognized her efforts and launched many projects in her name to empower women. Inspired by bold women, the Uttar Pradesh government has started the 'Mission Shakti' campaign to promote women's safety and empowerment. Rani Avantibai Lodhi gave her life for her nation on March 20, 1858, while battling against British control.

He penned a post on X, which reads as follows: “Humble tribute on the martyrdom day of Rani Avantibai Lodhi, the heroine of the first freedom struggle of 1857, the immortal symbol of national dignity. His unique courage, leadership and supreme sacrifice to defend the motherland is a golden chapter in Indian history. Her life is an inspiring example of female power and patriotism.”
