
Bhubaneswar, 20 March (H.S.): Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has carried out an extensive public outreach campaign in Odisha as part of its centenary year programmes, reaching out to nearly 30 lakh families across the state.
According to the organization, the initiative is part of a nationwide campaign aimed at strengthening grassroots engagement. The details were shared during a press conference held in Bhubaneswar by Sameer Kumar Mahanty, Prant Sanghchalak of RSS Odisha Purba region.
The outreach follows the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha held from March 13 to 15 in Samalkha, Haryana. As per information presented at the meeting, RSS Swayamsevaksvisited approximately 3.9 lakh villages and 31,500 urban localities across India, connecting with nearly 10 crore families through door-to-door interactions.
In Odisha alone, Swayamsevaksreached 31,645 villages and 742 urban settlements during the campaign.
Mahanti stated that alongside the outreach, various programmes such as Hindu Sammelans, youth conventions, and social harmony meetings were organized across the state and the country. These events focused on the concept of “Panch Parivartan,” which includes social harmony, strengthening family values, environmental protection, self-awareness, and promoting civic responsibilities.
In Odisha, 1,398 Hindu Sammelans, 73 youth conventions, and 227 social harmony meetings were held, witnessing significant public participation.
RSS also shared that currently, 88,949 daily shakhas and 32,606 weekly gatherings are being conducted nationwide. In Odisha, there are 3,041 daily shakhas at 2,516 locations and 580 weekly gatherings at 498 locations. Service activities are ongoing in 13,714 localities across the country, including 196 service projects and 172 contact initiatives in Odisha.
The organization further informed that 96 training camps will be आयोजित across the country this year, with three planned in Odisha. Expansion of shakhas has also been set as a key objective during the centenary year.
During the press briefing, it was also highlighted that RSS Swayamsevaksactively participated in commemorating the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur last year. Additionally, the 150th anniversary of “Vande Mataram” is being celebrated nationwide. The 650th birth anniversary of Sant Ravidas will be observed across the country next year.
The Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha saw participation from 1,438 representatives nationwide, including 46 from Odisha. Representatives from 32 different sectors were also present. Tributes were paid to eminent personalities from Odisha and across the country who passed away recently.
The press conference was also attended by RSS Odisha Purba Prant Prachar Pramukh Sumant Kumar Panda and Sah-Prachar Pramukh Manindra Sundar Das.
