March (HS): President Droupadi Murmu arrived in the city of Kanha on Thursday
for her three-day visit to Mathura. After landing at the Cantt helipad, the
President visited the renowned ISKCON and Prem Mandir in Braj. Uttar Pradesh
Governor Anandiben Patel and her family were also present during her visit.
The
President's helicopter landed at the Army helipad on Thursday afternoon. She
was given a grand welcome by Governor Anandiben Patel, Cabinet Minister Laxmi
Narayan Chaudhary, Minister in Charge Sandeep Singh, MP Tejveer Singh, Mayor
Vinod Agarwal, Lieutenant General V. Hariharan, Additional Director General of
Police, Agra Zone, Anupam Kulshrestha, Divisional Commissioner, Agra, Nagendra
Pratap, Group Captain Shivam Manchanda, and District Magistrate Chandra Prakash
Singh, along with senior administrative officials. The President's convoy then
proceeded directly to Vrindavan.
Chocolates
distributed to children at ISKCON temple: The President first visited the
ISKCON temple in Vrindavan. On the occasion of the temple's 50th golden
jubilee, she performed ritualistic worship and aarti of the idols of Radha and
Shyamsundar. Temple President Panchagouda Das said that the President was
deeply impressed by the temple's decorations and devotional atmosphere. After
the worship, the President spoke cordially with the children in the temple
premises and presented them with chocolates. She told temple officials that she
would like to visit the temple again.
Watched
the laser show and the Aarti of Yugal Sarkar at Prem Mandir: After ISKCON,
President Draupadi Murmu reached Prem Mandir, where she was welcomed by Ajay
Baba and other officials. The President along with her family enjoyed the
special 'Water Laser Show' organized in the temple. After this, she performed
Aarti of the couple form of Shri Radha-Krishna in the sanctum sanctorum. During
this, the melodious singing done by 51 ashram residents of Sankirtan Mandali
completely filled the atmosphere with Krishna. The President circumambulated
the temple and also had darshan of Shri Sita-Ram Ji situated on the first
floor. She was presented with Prasad, Tulsi garland, scarf and religious
literature by the temple management.
Tight
security arrangements: Tight security arrangements were made throughout Mathura
and Vrindavan in anticipation of President Draupadi Murmu's visit. ADG Anupam
Kulshrestha and SSP Shlok Kumar personally supervised the security
arrangements. This visit by the President elevated the cultural and religious
significance of Braj to new heights on the global stage.
