Jammu, 19 March (H.S.): A police team from Police Station Thanamandi, led by SHO Inspector Sachinder Pal Singh, seized three tippers involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in the Thanamandi area.

During the operation, a vehicle bearing registration number JK12-4183, driven by Mohd Rafiq of Surankote, and another vehicle JK12-1309, driven by Jameel Ahmed, were seized and later fined Rs 18,441 each by the Mining Department. Another tipper, JK20A-4287, driven by Javied Iqbal of Surankote, was also intercepted and fined Rs 17,544.

After verification, the Mining authorities imposed a total penalty of Rs 56,436 on the violators.
