
Gadchiroli, 19 Mar (HS): Eleven Maoists
have surrendered on Thursday to join the main stream of life leaving the
violence. This is considered another success of efforts by CRPF and Gadchiroli
Police. Maharashtra Government had announced cash prize of Rs 68 lakh on their
heads.
Those surrendered include senior cadre
members Soni alias Bali Vatte Mattami (Rs 16 lakh) belonging to Kutul Dalam,
Budri alias Rambatti Aytu Mattami (Rs 16 lakh), Sukhlal Bolga Koksa (rs 8
lakh), Shanti alias Somri Ganga Telami (Rs 8 lakh), Yamunakka alias Rukhmakka
Pendam (Rs 6 lakh).
As many as 27 serious offences were
registered against Yamunakka, who is active in the Maoist group since 1982. The
others who surrendered are Ganesh Kowasi, Minko Mattami, Dhanu Welanje, Sunita
Hoyam, Ramesh Madavi and Kishor Wasam.
So far 794 Maoists have surrendered,
including 123 since 2025. The mission to eliminate Maoism in Maharashtra
appears to be nearing completion.
