Guwahati, 19 March (HS): The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has called upon voters in Assam to ensure 100% participation in the upcoming Assembly elections, emphasizing the importance of voting in the national interest.

Addressing a press conference at the RSS Assam regional office Sudarshanalaya, North Assam Prant Prachar Pramukh Dr. Sunil Mohanty urged all eligible voters to exercise their franchise and contribute to nation-building. He highlighted the significance of the ongoing commemorations, including the 100th anniversary of “Vande Mataram,” the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur and the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Ravidas.

The press conference, organized with the support of North Assam Prant Prachar Pramukh Kishore Shivam, also featured Prant Karyavah Khagen Saikia, who shared key highlights from the RSS Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha held from March 13 to 15 at Samalkha in Haryana. He informed that RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale were present at the meeting, which saw participation from 1,438 representatives across 46 regions.

Providing details of centenary year activities, Saikia said that over 32 lakh people participated in more than 62,000 events held nationwide on Vijayadashami. Under the ‘Griha Sampark Abhiyan’, RSS workers reached out to over 10 crore people across the country, including more than 11 lakh families in 13,061 villages of North Assam.

He further noted that large-scale Hindu conferences were organized across 37 provinces, drawing participation from over 3.49 crore people. In North Assam alone, 1,128 such conferences saw participation from more than 6.4 lakh people, with significant involvement of women.

Saikia added that the RSS currently operates 88,939 shakhas across 55,683 locations in the country. Meanwhile, Kishore Shivam announced a restructuring of RSS’s geographical divisions, reducing the number of regions from 11 to 9 and reorganizing 44 provinces into 85 units for better administrative efficiency and expansion of activities.--------------
