19 March (HS): A meeting of all Chief Ticket Inspectors/Station (CIT/Station)
and Chief Ticket Inspectors/Line (CIT/Line) of Prayagraj Division was held under
the chairmanship of Divisional Railway Manager, Prayagraj, Rajneesh Aggarwal.
The meeting was attended by Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Deepak
Kumar, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Coaching), Hari Mohan and Divisional
Commercial Manager Ankit Agarwal. Detailed discussions were held on ticket
checking arrangements, improvement in passenger amenities, train punctuality
and enhancement of commercial revenue.The primary objective of the meeting was
to strengthen passenger facilities, improve punctuality of trains, minimize unnecessary
detentions and ensure growth in commercial revenue.
During the
meeting, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Coaching), Hari Mohan,
emphasized minimizing cases of Alarm Chain Pulling (ACP) and ensuring prompt
disposal of such incidents so that the average detention time of trains can be
reduced and restricted to a maximum of 5 minutes. Similarly, instructions were
issued for prompt handling of Medical Demand (DMO) cases to avoid unnecessary
train detentions. To reduce overcrowding-related complaints received through
Rail Madad, it was directed that passengers be accommodated in appropriate
coaches as per their ticket authority and unauthorized passengers be deboarded
as per rules.
Instructions
were also issued to ensure provision of Minimum Essential Amenities (MEA) such
as water booths and water coolers at all stations, along with additional
arrangements wherever required. Emphasis was laid on ensuring proper
functioning of fans and air conditioners in waiting halls, regular cleaning of
toilets, and availability of adequate water supply. Keeping in view the
upcoming summer season, directions were given to ensure availability of
drinking water facilities (pyau) on platforms by coordinating with NGOs,
charitable trusts, passenger associations and other social organizations.
To enhance
revenue, emphasis was laid on increasing counter ticket sales and ticket
checking earnings through intensive drives such as fortress checks and
magistrate checks. It was also directed to strengthen checking of UTS tickets
at station exit points to ensure ticket validity and take action against
irregular passengers. Further, all ticket checking staff were instructed to
mandatorily submit a “Deficiency Report” after completion of duty in trains so
that shortcomings in services can be identified and rectified in a timely
manner. Special drives were also directed against unauthorized passengers in
coaches reserved for Divyangjan (persons with disabilities), including recovery
of charges as per rules and removal of such passengers.
Additionally,
to ensure effective implementation of instructions received from Headquarters
and Divisional levels, it was directed that relevant circulars be displayed in
the “Open Assurance Register” in TTE lobbies and acknowledgement through signatures
of staff be ensured to promote transparency and accountability. On this
occasion, Divisional Railway Manager Rajneesh Aggarwal stated that passenger
convenience should be the top priority. Keeping the summer season in view, he
directed those available resources at stations be regularly assessed and any
additional requirements be communicated to the administration in time. He also
encouraged all staff to perform their duties with dedication and a positive
approach. Additional Divisional Railway Manager Deepak Kumar stated that the
Commercial Department is a vital part of railway administration, and its
proactive role helps in strengthening the image of the Railways among
passengers and contributes to improved operational performance and revenue.
