Prayagraj,

19 March (HS): Under the leadership of Prayagraj MP Ujjwal Raman Singh, Kisan,

Samvidhan, MNREGA Bachao Rally was scheduled for March 22 in Bharatganj Manda. However,

the expected crowd has created panic in the ruling party, believe Congress

leaders. MP representative Vinay Kushwaha told reporters on Thursday that it

was first scheduled in Janta Inter College Bharatganj, but the police officials

denied permission for that place on the pretext of the road being narrow, then

instead of that, permission was given for the rally in an open space on the

main road, but after making them run around for three days, they gave

permission in the morning and at night gave a notice of cancellation of

permission. The representative said that it is not known what frightened the

people sitting in the government that after giving permission in the morning,

the permission is cancelled at night. He said that neither will they fight nor

will they agree, the rally will be held on a new date.

Meanwhile,

District Congress Committee Yamunapar. President Ashok Kumar Singh Patel and

City Congress Committee President Fuzail Hashmi informed that the proposed

Congress rally scheduled to be held on Sunday, March 22 in Bharatganj, Manda

has been cancelled.

In a joint

statement, presidents duo stated that

ACP Meja, SP Upadhyay, citing security reasons, has cancelled the previously

granted permission for the rally due to the unavailability of additional police

force in view of Chaitra Navratri.

They

further stated that it is disappointing that despite completing all

formalities, the district and police administration cancelled the rally

permission. Former MLA Ramkripal Kol, Kishore Varshney, Harikesh Tripathi,

Mukund Tiwari, and Manju Sant, while condemning the cancellation of the rally,

said that the BJP government in the state is frightened by the raising strength

of Congress. They alleged that the BJP government is continuously undermining

democracy.
