
New Delhi, 13 March (H.S.): Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, alongside Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi, met Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and senior ministry officials Friday to tackle the LPG crisis crippling hotels and tourism.They reviewed current liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) availability and its fallout on hospitality, prompting swift government action.
Shekhawat announced businesses will receive 20% of their average monthly commercial gas needs starting today, with extra supplies planned for hotels and restaurants.
Ongoing coordination between Petroleum and Tourism Ministries, plus stakeholder dialogues, ensures timely fixes. Shekhawat attributed pressures to global war disruptions but affirmed PM Narendra Modi's government stands firm safeguarding consumers and tourism.
