New Delhi, 13 March (H.S.): Patiala House Court extended judicial custody by 15 days for seven accused in the Red Fort explosion case, including prime suspect Dr. Shehnaz Saeed. Principal District and Sessions Judge Peetamber Dutt pronounced the order as their prior remand expired today.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) sought a 90-day extension for its probe into the November 10, 2025, car bomb blast near Lal Qila, which killed 13 people and injured 32 when an i10 vehicle registered to Aamir Rashid Ali detonated.
Alongside Dr. Shehnaz Saeed, those remanded include Mufti Irfan Ahmad, Dr. Adil Ahmad, Jaseer Bilal Wani Danish, Yaseer Ahmad Dar, Naseel Bilal Mulla, and Dr. Mujammil Shakeel.NIA arrested Danish in Srinagar, alleging he modified drones, prepared rockets pre-blast, and collaborated with Umar Un Nabi— who brainwashed the political science graduate into a suicide role. They met in October 2024 at a Kulgam mosque before relocating him to Al-Falah University in Faridabad, Haryana.
