New Delhi/Tehran 13 March (H.S.): India's External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar held a telephonic conversation with his Iranian counterpart Seyed Abbas Araghchi Thursday night, addressing escalating U.S.-Israel tensions with Iran and their broader regional-global fallout.

Jaishankar shared on X that discussions covered bilateral matters alongside BRICS-related issues—marking their fourth exchange since West Asia's conflict erupted.Iran's StanceAraghchi briefed Jaishankar on alleged U.S.-Israeli aggressions, stressing Tehran's resolve—government, people, armed forces—to invoke legitimate self-defense rights. He urged regional-international bodies to condemn military actions against Iran and highlighted BRICS' pivotal role in fostering stability-security amid crises.

Previous talks touched commercial shipping safety through the Strait of Hormuz and energy security, as disruptions plague the waterway since hostilities intensified.
