
New Delhi, 12 March (H.S.): The Lok Sabha adjourned until 2 p.m. Thursday amid relentless opposition protests over the ongoing gas cylinder crisis, following an earlier suspension till noon.Proceedings commenced at 11 a.m., only for opposition members to launch slogan-shouting; Speaker Om Birla urged decorum, but persistent disruption forced adjournment.
Resuming later, Birla addressed the House for nearly 30 minutes before Ministers of State for Power Yashobhadra Naik, Road Transport Ajay Tamta, Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal, and Jal Shakti Rajbhushan Chaudhary tabled responses on departmental queries.
Opposition sloganeering and poster-waving continued unabated, culminating in the second adjournment.
Notably, Birla chaired proceedings a day after rejecting an opposition no-confidence motion against him.In the current Budget session, opposition has relentlessly targeted the government on inflation, LPG shortages, airfare hikes, and telecom policies.
