New Delhi, 10 March (H.S.):

The Delhi High Court, before Justice Amit Bansal, granted interim relief to families of Uttam Nagar murder case accused, staying bulldozer action on their properties until the next hearing on March 11.

The court barred MCD officials from any demolition, noting nothing would deteriorate overnight. MCD sought time till Tuesday, but the bench prioritized immediate restraint.

On March 4, during Holi festivities in West Delhi's Uttam Nagar, 26-year-old Tarun Bhutolia was lynched amid escalating clashes. MCD razed illegal portions of one accused's home on March 8, sparking communal allegations as the prime suspect hails from the Muslim community. Delhi Police questioned Sohail and Ayan post-incident.

Sohail, Ayan's mother Shehnaz, and Imran alias Bunty's mother Jarina petitioned, claiming MCD's post-FIR demolition violated natural justice, Articles 14, 21, 300A of the Constitution, and Supreme Court guidelines on arbitrary actions.
