New Delhi, 10 March (H.S.): Amid devastating floods ravaging central and southern provinces of Mozambique, India launched a comprehensive humanitarian aid and disaster relief operation on Tuesday, dispatching vital supplies via an Indian Navy vessel.

The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed multifaceted assistance encompassing food security and medical support. This includes 500 metric tonnes of rice for immediate sustenance, alongside 10 metric tonnes of essential relief items and three tonnes of critical medicines.

Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal affirmed, India remains committed as a reliable first responder and steadfast partner in the Indian Ocean Region and Africa. We will extend every possible humanitarian, medical, and logistical aid to help Mozambique restore normalcy swiftly.

Additionally, 86 metric tonnes of life-saving drugs have already reached via sea route, underscoring India's proactive solidarity.
