Outrage and grief gripped India's Shia communities following the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei in a US-Israeli airstrike, sparking protests across Shia-majority areas like Kargil, Ladakh, Lucknow, and Bijnor, with demonstrators hitting the streets in Delhi too.
At Jantar Mantar, protesters demanded the Indian government stand with the oppressed and issue a condolence message for Khamenei. Shia clerics addressing the crowd urged support for victims, stating India has historically backed the downtrodden.
Mourners expressed deep sorrow over the killing.Clerics declared Khamenei a martyr in the US-Israel attack—martyrs live forever—and branded it a cowardly act. Protesters clutched Khamenei's portraits amid widespread weeping.
