Vice President and Delhi University Chancellor C.P. Radhakrishnan conferred digital degrees on 1,20,408 students at the university's 102nd convocation on Saturday, emphasizing that a degree signifies commitment to society and nation.
He urged youth to adopt Nation First as their life's guiding mantra amid global challenges like AI and climate change.At the multipurpose sports complex event, 734 PhD scholars received degrees, alongside 132 gold and silver medals.
Radhakrishnan personally awarded medals to 10 toppers and released the 'Book of Highlights'. He hailed DU's evolution from three colleges in 1922 to 90 colleges, 16 faculties, and over 600,000 students today, predicting top global rankings ahead.
Degrees mark not just completion but new responsibilities, he said, calling graduates architects of Viksit Bharat 2047 through innovation and self-reliance. Noting over 50% women graduates and 70% gold medallists, he congratulated them and advised rejecting drugs while using social media responsibly. University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh reaffirmed academic continuity even through wars and pandemics, invoking DU's motto: Nishtha, Dhriti, Satyam.
