26 Feb (HS): Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, visited
Yamanashi Prefecture in Japan to boost economic connections, with an emphasis
on green hydrogen, clean energy, and industrial collaboration. This visit, part
of a larger investment push, featured a tour of a hydrogen factory and
discussions on, among other things, the development of a Japanese Industrial
City in Uttar Pradesh. Yogi Adityanath visited Yamanashi's green hydrogen
plants, applauding their inventiveness and pledging to develop such sustainable
energy models in Uttar Pradesh.

reviewed potential for Japanese investment in Uttar Pradesh, with an emphasis
on semiconductors, data centers, electric transportation, and logistics. A
dedicated 500-acre Japan Industrial City is being developed for the Yamuna
Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region. Yogi met with
authorities, including Yamanashi's Vice Governor, Junichi Ishidara, to explore
boosting bilateral collaboration with Japanese ministries.
Discussions
also focused on strengthening relationships via Buddhist history and tourism,
as well as interacting with the Indian diaspora. This tour was part of a wider
four-day mission to Singapore and Japan aimed at getting substantial investment
proposals to assist Uttar Pradesh become a $1 trillion economy.
