Lucknow,
26 Feb (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has enhanced
connections with Japan's Yamanashi Prefecture, which is home to Mount Fuji (a
UNESCO World Heritage site), with an emphasis on Buddhist tourism, investment,
and cultural interaction. Recent discussions with a Yamanashi group emphasized
possible cooperation between UP's six important Buddhist sites and Japanese
history, such as tourist development. The partnership focuses on tourist
promotion, using Yamanashi's Mount Fuji (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since
2013) and UP's Buddhist circuit, which is significant for Japan's sizable
Buddhist community. Discussions focused on the common cultural legacy and
possibilities for investment in tourist infrastructure, with CM Yogi
encouraging Japanese visitors and investors to Uttar Pradesh.
In
a post on X, he mentioned, “Mount Fuji, Japan’s highest peak and a UNESCO World
Heritage site, rises as a timeless symbol of perseverance, discipline and
spiritual balance. With the majestic Mount Fuji in the backdrop, a symbol of
Japan’s timeless beauty and cultural pride, it is my good fortune to witness it
on a bright and sunny day. Thank you, Japan!”
