Thiruvananthapuram,26 Feb (H.S.):The much-anticipated full interview between Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and actor Mohanlal will be released this evening, drawing considerable public and political attention. Titled “Kandum Mindiyum… Iruvar” (Seen and Spoken… The Two), the programme will be telecast on television channels and streamed across social media platforms.

The interview, filmed over two days at the Chief Minister’s official residence, Cliff House, has been directed by noted filmmaker T.K. Rajeev Kumar. A 1.15-minute teaser released earlier this week sparked widespread discussion, offering glimpses of candid exchanges and informal moments between the two prominent figures.

The teaser suggests that the conversation delves into both the political journey and personal life of Vijayan. It opens with visuals of Mohanlal arriving at Cliff House, followed by scenes of the two walking together in the residence compound and even spending time with a pet dog, underscoring a relaxed and personal tone.

Opposition parties have criticised the programme as a “PR stunt,” questioning its timing and intent. In response, the CPI(M) defended the interview, stating that it stems from the personal rapport between Mohanlal and the Chief Minister rather than any political agenda. Adding to the political undertone, Jaihind TV recently re-telecast an earlier programme titled “Iruvar”, featuring a conversation between former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Mohanlal, when Chandy was Leader of the Opposition.

In the teaser, Mohanlal is seen asking the Chief Minister about his favourite films, mentioning that someone had told him Mr. Vijayan prefers Rajinikanth movies. The Chief Minister replies that he generally enjoys action films. When asked whether he had ever tried to apply a cinematic scene to real life, Vijayan responds that he has not.

In another candid moment, the Chief Minister speaks about an instance in his life when he had to endure physical assault. When Mohanlal asks if he remembers dialogues from any of the actor’s films, Vijayan humorously replies by referencing characters such as Dineshan and Dasan, prompting laughter from Mohanlal.

The teaser concludes with Mohanlal delivering the line, “My Kerala, your Kerala, our Kerala,” to which the Chief Minister responds with applause — a moment that has already generated significant curiosity ahead of the full broadcast.
