Guwahati, 26 February (HS): The Assam State AIS-140 Vehicle Location Tracking Device (VLTD) Monitoring Centre and Backend System under the Nirbhaya Framework will be inaugurated on Thursday at the 2nd Floor of the Inter State Bus Terminal, Gorchuk.
The facility will be formally inaugurated by Charan Boro, Minister of Transport and Welfare of Bodoland, Government of Assam. The programme will be held in the presence of Ramendra Narayan Kalita, MLA of Guwahati West and Chairman of AMTRON.
The AIS-140 VLTD Monitoring Centre has been established to strengthen vehicle tracking and enhance women’s safety measures under the Nirbhaya Framework. The system is expected to improve real-time monitoring of registered public transport vehicles across the state and bolster emergency response mechanisms through a centralized backend infrastructure.
Officials stated that the initiative marks a significant step toward leveraging technology-driven solutions to ensure safer public transportation in Assam.----------
