24 Feb (HS): The Jacob Institute of Biotechnology and Bioengineering (JIBB) at
Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS)
organized XPRESSIONS 2026, a mega-event showcasing an extraordinary
array of talent across creative arts, literature, music, and gaming. The day-long
festival brought together a large number of students in a spirited display of
skill and innovation. The program commenced with a solemn word of prayer by the
University Chaplain, Rev. Lal Chung Gangte, seeking divine blessings for the
success of the event and the welfare of the students.
The
occasion was graced by Dr. (Ir.) Abhilasha Lal, Director (HRM), SHUATS, as the
Chief Guest. In her motivating address, she emphasized the importance of
holistic development. Dr. Lal remarked that True education lies beyond
textbooks. Events like XPRESSIONS provide a platform where the 'Warrior Spirit'
of our youth meets creative brilliance. I urge every student to let their
creativity be the bridge between science and soul, for it is innovation and
passion that will define the leaders of tomorrow. Prof. (Dr. Ir.) Jonathan Lal,
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs) and Dean of JIBB, congratulated the
students for their meticulous planning and enthusiastic participation. He noted
it is heartening to see our biotechnology and engineering students excel not
just in labs, but in poetry, gaming, and the arts. This synergy of diverse
talents is what JIBB stands for producing well-rounded individuals ready to
face global challenges with a smile.
The
festival was divided into four major segments: XPRESSIONS (Creative Arts):
Included Mehndi, Face Painting, Makeup, and Short Film screenings. BRAIN WAVE (Literary) Featured soul-stirring
Poetry sessions and a high-octane Quiz in the University Auditorium.
GAMINGLITZ (E-Sports) A massive attraction at
the JIBB Lawn, featuring competitive gaming in Apex Legends, BGMI, and Call of
Duty.
GLITTERAMA (Cultural) The evening peaked with
Standup Comedy, Solo/Duet/Choir Singing, and a high-energy Band performance at
the JIBB Lawn. Treasure Hunt: An adventurous hunt held across the sprawling
University Campus that kept the adrenaline pumping.
The
event was successfully conducted in the presence of PRO VC pmd Professor Dr. Ritu prakash
Dubey,Prof. (Dr.) Rubina Lawrence (Associate Dean, JIBB), Prof. (Dr.) Veeru
Prakash, Prof. (Dr.) Rajiv Kant, and Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Shukla, Dr. Akhilesh A
large number of faculty members and students from various departments attended
the festivities, making it a memorable milestone for the institute.
