
Kaushambi,
24 Feb (HS): Two drivers were killed after a speeding vehicle plowed into a
halted trailer truck from behind on GT Road in Uttar Pradesh's Kaushambi
district, police reported on Tuesday. An accident occurred midnight near Kasia
Paschim village when a truck traveling from Kanpur to Prayagraj collided with a
trailer parked on the roadside, according to police.
Following
the crash, both drivers became stuck within their automobiles. Police, with the
assistance of local locals, freed them from the crushed lorries, they added. Truck
driver Ajay Kumar (40), a native of Chak Mugal in Fatehpur district, died on the
scene, according to police. According to Station House Officer Chandrabhooshan
Maurya, the trailer driver, Bhavan Bhanwar Singh (45), a native of Bikaner,
Rajasthan, was crushed under the truck.
He
was brought to Kaushambi's district hospital in serious condition, where he
died from injuries, according to the officer. Police have taken both bodies
into custody and sent them for postmortem examinations. Maurya noted that more
legal actions are already underway.
