24 Feb (HS): On Tuesday, the second day of his official visit to Singapore ,
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met with Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and
Minister of Trade and Industry, Gan Kim Yong, and Coordinating Minister for
National Security and Home Minister K. Shanmugam. The discussions, attended by
a high-level delegation, focused on the goal of making Uttar Pradesh a
trillion-dollar economy by leveraging Singapore's expertise in urban planning,
internal security infrastructure, and digital governance.
Industrial
Investment Discussed: In his conversation with Gan Kim Yong, the Chief Minister
emphasized Uttar Pradesh's pro-business environment. He highlighted
the state's vast land bank and the soon-to-be-opened Noida International
Airport in Jewar. The meeting discussed the possibility of Singaporean
companies establishing industrial townships in Delhi NCR, with a particular
focus on semiconductor manufacturing and green hydrogen modules.
Emphasis
on Security and Management: In an interaction with K. Shanmugam, the Chief
Minister discussed the modernization of Uttar Pradesh's improving law and order
situation, with a special focus on Singapore's technology-integrated policing
model and disaster management protocols. Addressing the Singaporean business
community present during these meetings, Chief Minister Yogi invited
independent financial funds and private investors to invest in the state's
logistics and data center sectors. He said that simplification of regulatory
procedures and a single-window clearance system have significantly reduced the
completion timelines for major projects in Uttar Pradesh.
