Hooghly, 23 February (H.S.): The BJP presented a detailed chargesheet at a press conference at the Serampore organizational district office on Monday evening, alleging the current state government's failures in the five organizational districts of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) within the Howrah-Hooghly region: Howrah Rural, Howrah City, Hooghly, Srirampur, and Arambagh. This chargesheet is not limited to written allegations, but attempts to expose alleged corruption, violence, misgovernance, and administrative failures through photographs and visual documentation.

The four-page chargesheet presented by the BJP prominently features photographs of incidents, protests, alleged illegal activities, and victims on separate pages. Party leaders claimed that the photographs expose the ground realities and show how issues concerning the lives of ordinary people have been ignored.

The chargesheet includes brief descriptions and point-by-point allegations along with photographs, so that each photograph serves as evidence in itself.

In the first part of the chargesheet, the BJP alleges widespread corruption in various government schemes at the water, road, housing, and panchayat levels.

The photographs attempt to portray incomplete construction work, poor-quality roads, and alleged loot in the name of the schemes. BJP leaders allege that government funds, instead of reaching the public, ended up in the pockets of a few individuals.

A large portion of the chargesheet focuses on the atmosphere of violence and fear.

The BJP claimed that political opponents were attacked during elections and local disputes. To support this, the chargesheet includes photographs of violence-affected areas, injured people, and protests. The party alleges that the administration's role in these incidents was questionable.

The chargesheet also highlights cases involving women, youth, and ordinary citizens through photographs.

The BJP claimed the government has completely failed to ensure women's safety, youth employment, and basic amenities for the general public. The photographs were used to convey the message that social insecurity and unemployment are steadily increasing.

The chargesheet also makes serious allegations against the administration and police.

BJP leaders claim that in many cases, complaints were not registered or action was not taken. Photos depicting protests outside police stations and images of victimized families attempted to convey that despite pleading for justice, people received no relief.

At the end of the chargesheet, the BJP directly conveyed a political message, stating that change is necessary in the state.

The chargesheet claimed that corruption, violence, and misgovernance have increased during the current government's tenure, and that the public will respond to these demands democratically.

At the time of filing of the report, there was no official response from the Trinamool Congress to the BJP's chargesheet and allegations. However, the ruling party has previously dismissed such allegations as politically motivated.

However, during the programme of presenting the charge sheet of the BJP, many BJP leaders and workers including former state president Dilip Ghosh, Serampore organizational district president Suman Ghosh and vice president Rajesh Singh were present.
