BJP Slams Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin Over Controversial Remarks Against PM Modi

Chennai, 23 February (H.S.) :The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a sharp counter-attack against Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, advising him to behave in a mature way following his recent provocative comments regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The controversy erupted after Udhayanidhi Stalin reportedly made remarks during an election campaign stating that the people of Tamil Nadu do not fear the Prime Minister or even his father. National spokespersons for the BJP condemned the statement, labeling it as a sign of political immaturity and a desperate attempt to gain traction ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections.

The BJP leadership asserted that such derogatory language against the Prime Minister of the country undermines the dignity of the constitutional office held by the Deputy Chief Minister. Party officials in Chennai stated that the DMK is sensing a significant shift in public sentiment and is therefore resorting to personal attacks and aggressive rhetoric to hide its administrative failures.

They emphasized that the Prime Minister has always focused on the development of Tamil Nadu through various central schemes, and Udhayanidhi’s fearless rhetoric is merely a distraction from the growing anti-incumbency against the ruling state government.

Latest updates from the political corridors indicate that the BJP plans to take this issue to the people as part of their campaign narrative, highlighting what they call the culture of arrogance within the DMK leadership. BJP spokespersons further added that the voters of Tamil Nadu would give a fitting reply to such unbecoming language at the polling booths.

While the DMK continues to frame its campaign as a struggle for state rights against the Centre, the BJP has called for a higher standard of political discourse, urging Udhayanidhi Stalin to focus on policy debates rather than personal insults. The war of words has significantly heated up the political atmosphere in the state.
