
New Delhi, 23 February (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the recently concluded AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam demonstrated India’s growing capabilities in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said the summit had drawn appreciation from across the world. “In the historic AI Summit held in Delhi, the entire world has wholeheartedly praised India’s capabilities. This shows that the thinking of our young companions regarding technology will be of great benefit to all of humanity,” he said.
The Prime Minister also shared a Sanskrit quote highlighting the importance of experimentation, research, analysis and observation in the pursuit of knowledge.
India hosted the AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi from February 16 to 20, with discussions centred on human-centric AI, global cooperation and ethical frameworks, including the New Delhi Declaration. The summit brought together global leaders, policymakers, technology experts, innovators and startup founders to deliberate on the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence.
During the 131st episode of his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday, the Prime Minister described the summit as a turning point in the global approach to AI. He said leaders, industrialists and innovators from around the world participated in the event at Bharat Mandapam and that he had the opportunity to interact with several of them.
The Prime Minister said India’s expanding innovation ecosystem and youth-driven technological initiatives are positioning the country as a key participant in shaping global AI discussions, while stressing the need for research, experimentation and ethical responsibility in deploying emerging technologies.
