Kolkata, 22 February (H.S.): The political turmoil over security in West Bengal has intensified. On Sunday afternoon, the Bengal BJP issued a scathing statement on social media, claiming that the Delhi Police Special Cell had arrested two suspected terrorists from the state's Malda district. According to the BJP, the accused were living in Malda using fake Aadhaar cards.

The BJP questioned why the state police were not informed of such a serious matter. The party alleged that the police either failed completely or remained silent under political pressure despite knowing everything. The BJP described the incident as a serious administrative and security failure of the state government.

The post also stated that while there are reports of the rise of radical organizations in Bangladesh, hideouts for Bangladeshi terrorists are allegedly being established in West Bengal. The BJP warned that if strict action is not taken in time, the safety of the common people could be at risk.

The BJP, while emphasizing the need for an SIR, accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of making misleading statements on the issue. The party stated that the matter concerns not just Bengal but the internal security of the country.

However, there was no official response from the Trinamool Congress or the state government on these allegations at the time of filing of the news.
