22 Feb (HS): In Mirzapur district, on Sunday, a husband killed his wife in a

family dispute. Police reached the spot on receiving information and took the

accused husband into custody and started further action.

Superintendent of Police (City) Ritesh Singh said that Kapoor Chandra, a

resident of Revna village in the Kotwali Katra area, had a dispute with his

wife, Chanda Devi (48). The matter escalated to the point where he murdered his

wife. Upon receiving information about the incident, the Kotwali Katra police

station and the Kotwali Dehat police, along with their field units, arrived at

the scene. Police took the body into custody and collected evidence from the

scene. The accused has been detained and is being interrogated.

Nagar stated that the police have sent the body for post-mortem and are

investigating the matter. Meanwhile, the deceased Chanda's brother has filed a

complaint with the police, accusing his brother-in-law of murdering his sister.

The police are taking legal action in the matter.
