22 Feb (HS): On Sunday, a case was registered against Swami Avimukteshwarananda
under the POCSO Act at the Jhunsi police station in Prayagraj district, Uttar
Pradesh, on court orders, in connection with a sexual exploitation case. This
information was provided by Jhunsi police station in-charge, Inspector Mahesh
Mishra. The station in-charge stated that, based on the instructions of the
POCSO Act Special Court in Prayagraj, a case was registered against
Avimukteshwarananda and Mukundanand Brahmachari, residents of Chamoli Badrinath
Dham in Uttarakhand, and three unidentified individuals, based on a complaint
filed by the plaintiff, Ashutosh Brahmachari Maharaj, a disciple of the head
priest of Shri Tulsi Kunj, Chhattisgarh, located in Vrindavan, Mathura.
The
FIR includes Section 351 (3) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS) 2023 and six
different sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012.
It is noteworthy that on Saturday, the POCSO Act Special Court of the Prayagraj
District Court directed the Jhunsi police station to register a case and
investigate based on the plaintiff's complaint.
