Guwahati, 21 February (HS): Assam BJP president Dilip Saikia on Saturday alleged that the Youth Congress staged its protest during the AI Impact Summit in Delhi on the “direct instruction” of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Addressing a press conference in Guwahati, Saikia strongly criticised the reported “Topless protest” at the summit, terming it a matter of “national shame” and a “global embarrassment” for the country. He said such actions on an international platform tarnish India’s image and reflect what he described as the Congress party’s anti-national mindset.
Saikia demanded a thorough inquiry into the incident to ascertain the facts and fix accountability. He further announced that the BJP and its allied youth wings would organise protests across Assam to “expose the ugly face” of the Congress before the public.
The Youth Congress has not issued any official response to the allegations so far.-----------
