21 Feb (HS): Speaking at the Divisional Vegetable, Fruit and Flower Exhibition

2026 and the two-day district-level farmers' seminar, Minister of State for

Stamp Registration (Independent Charge) Ravindra Jaiswal said that farmers in

Varanasi should grow betel leaves. Our government will provide full support. It

is also my wish that the betel leaves sold in Varanasi be produced by local

farmers.

Appealing

to the farmers of Varanasi, Minister Ravindra Jaiswal said that the Banaras

paan is renowned nationally and internationally. Visitors to Varanasi enjoy the

flavor of the betel leaf, but we have to import these betel leaves from abroad.

The day Varanasi farmers begin cultivating betel leaves properly will be a

golden age for agriculture. We will grow Banaras paan leaves right here in

Varanasi.
