Guwahati, 21 February (HS): Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Saturday said educated, value-driven and socially responsible youth are the greatest strength in realising the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Addressing a programme on “Viksit Bharat and Youth” at Gauhati University, the Governor stressed that nation-building requires skill development, entrepreneurship, discipline, digital literacy and civic responsibility. He called for effective implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 to transform higher education institutions into centres of innovation and research.

The event was organised at the Phanidhar Datta Seminar Hall as part of Seva Sankalp Saptah launched by Lok Bhavan, Assam. Around 300 students participated in essay, elocution and poster-making competitions, and the Governor presented awards to the winners.

Referring to the vision articulated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Acharya said India’s demographic dividend would become a true national asset only when youth are skilled, disciplined and rooted in values.-----------
