Guwahati, 21 February (HS): Former Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President Bhupen Bora on Friday night said that the “difference is visible” between 32 years and 32 hours before joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), expressing gratitude to senior party leaders for their support.
In a statement, Bora thanked Union Home Minister Amit Shah for a meeting held on Friday night about 45 minutes and also expressed appreciation to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for visiting his residence earlier.
“32 years vs 32 hours — the difference is visible. Change brings clarity,” Bora remarked, indicating a new political direction after his long association with the Congress party. Bhupen Bora said that his perception about Amit Shah has now changed. Amit Shah is so much concern about the Assam and its people.
His move to the BJP is being seen as a significant political development in Assam, potentially reshaping party dynamics in the state.-----------
