
New Delhi, 20 February (H.S.): India's Under-17 men's football team, affectionately dubbed the Blue Colts, will engage Myanmar in two international friendly encounters on March 3 and 5 in Yangon, as announced by the All India Football Federation on Thursday.
Intensive Preparatory Campaign
These fixtures form an integral segment of the squad's rigorous buildup for the AFC U-17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026. Thus far in 2026, the team has contested four international friendlies: two against Tajikistan in Goa and two against Türkiye in Antalya.
Current Training and Travel Plans
Post their return from Türkiye, head coach Bibiano Fernandes' charges have resumed intensive training sessions in Goa. The Indian contingent is slated to depart for Myanmar's capital, Yangon, on February 28.
Myanmar's Qualification Triumph
Like India, Myanmar has secured qualification for the AFC U-17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026 by topping Group C in the qualifiers, ahead of formidable opponents including Oman, Syria, Afghanistan, and Nepal.
India's Group D Challenges
India finds itself pooled in Group D alongside Uzbekistan, Australia, and DPR Korea. Their campaign unfolds with fixtures against Australia on May 6, Uzbekistan on May 10, and DPR Korea on May 13.
