
Guwahati, 20 February (HS): More than 300 people joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a joining programme held at the party’s state headquarters, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan, in Guwahati on Friday.
The new entrants included around 100 members from the Rabha and Garo communities led by former Hindu Jagaran Manch leader Lambodar Rabha and over 200 members of Veer Lachit Sena from Nalbari, Jorhat, Dibrugarh and Nagaon under the leadership of former Guwahati city district chief secretary Swaraj Kashyap.
The programme was conducted by Benudhar Nath, head of the joining cell of the election management committee, in the presence of MP and committee chairman Pradan Baruah, state secretary Anup Barman and state vice-president Ratna Singh.----------
