Bhubaneswar, 18 February (H.S.): The Congress will field one candidate for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections from Odisha, Leader of the Congress Legislature Party Ramchandra Kadam said on Wednesday following the announcement of the election schedule.

Kadam stated that the party would nominate a candidate from within its own ranks and make a united effort to ensure victory. He also indicated that greater clarity would emerge after the party president meets BJD chief Naveen Patnaik.

He added that there would be no difficulty in seeking support from the BJD and the party is also open to exploring the possibility of a consensus candidate if required.
