New Delhi, 08 January (H.S.): Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta ordered a forensic examination of Leader of Opposition Atishi's video on Thursday, the fourth day of the winter session, following demands from both treasury and opposition benches. He directed the probe report within 15 days amid unrelenting pandemonium.
Proceedings commenced at 11 AM, but BJP members immediately disrupted over Atishi's alleged remarks on Guru Tegh Bahadur, prompting the Speaker to adjourn for half an hour. Upon reconvening, ruling side protests persisted; Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra's comment on Atishi ignited AAP counter-slogans, leading to another 30-minute suspension. When the house resumed the third time, unrest unabated, the Speaker adjourned until 1 PM.
The directive addresses accusations that Atishi made derogatory references to the Sikh Guru during discussions, fueling privilege motions and cross-allegations between BJP and AAP.
