Bhubaneswar, 18 January (H.S.): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a gradual increase in the minimum or night temperatures across Odisha over the next three to four days.

According to the IMD’s regional centre in Bhubaneswar, the minimum temperature is likely to rise by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius across various districts of the state during this period.

The weather department also stated that dry weather conditions are expected to prevail across Odisha until January 25. Meanwhile, several coastal and adjoining districts, including Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, and Kendrapara, are likely to experience shallow to moderate fog during the morning hours until January 21.

The IMD further informed that cold wave conditions were observed at one or two places in Angul and Jharsuguda districts over the past 24 hours, and similar conditions are expected to continue in isolated pockets of these districts on January 19.

In terms of temperature extremes recorded in the last 24 hours, the IMD reported that the highest maximum temperature was 32°C at Paralakhemundi in Gajapati district, while the lowest minimum temperature was 5.8°C at Phulbani in Kandhamal district.
