18 Jan (HS): On Sunday, panic broke out as IndiGo Airlines aircraft 6E-6650
from Delhi to Bagdogra was reported to have a bomb on board. Assistant
Commissioner of Police (ACP) Rajneesh Verma stated that the threat was a
scribbled letter on a tissue paper found in the flight's bathroom, and that a
comprehensive search is currently ongoing. A letter scrawled on tissue paper in
the flight's bsthroom stated that there was a bomb on board. The flight
contained 238 passengers, including the pilots and crew. The flight was in way
from Delhi to Bagdogra. The ACP reported that it made an emergency landing in
Lucknow and is presently being sought. Upon landing at Lucknow Airport,
security agents promptly surrounded the aircraft, which was parked in the
isolation bay. The bomb disposal unit and the CISF personnel launched a
detailed investigation.
All
passengers were evacuated and checked, and an extensive search is underway at
the airport. At about 08:46 AM on 18.01.26, ATC delivered a message claiming
that Indigo Airlines aircraft 6E-6650 (Delhi-Bagdogra) had a bomb on board. The
plane arrived safely at around 09:17 a.m. The plane was carrying 230 people,
including 222 adults, 8 babies, 2 pilots, and 5 crew members. The issue is now
under monitoring, and further information is being obtained.
