Chief Minister MK Stalin Announces Government Jobs For Bull Tamers In Tamil Nadu

Chennai, 17 January (H.S.) : In a significant move to honor traditional sportsmanship, Chief Minister MK Stalin has announced that bull tamers in the state will now be eligible for government jobs. The announcement was made on Saturday during the inauguration of the world-famous Jallikattu event at Alanganallur.

This decision fulfills a long-standing demand from the bull-taming community, which has sought official recognition and livelihood security for their contributions to preserving the cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu.

According to the Chief Minister, qualified bull tamers will be given priority recruitment for various positions within the Animal Husbandry Department.

In addition to the employment opportunities, the Chief Minister unveiled plans to establish a world-class Centre of Excellence at Alanganallur. This facility will serve as a specialized clinical and training center dedicated to the health and performance of Jallikattu bulls.

During the event, the Chief Minister personally distributed prizes to the winning tamers who successfully tackled the bulls. Addressing the gathering, MK Stalin emphasized that his government is committed to the welfare of those involved in the traditional sport.

This initiative is expected to provide a major boost to the rural youth who dedicate their lives to this ancient practice. Authorities noted that the integration of tamers into state service would ensure the systematic growth of the department while rewarding local talent.

The move has been widely welcomed by sports enthusiasts and the rural farming community across the Madurai region.
