Karimganj (Assam), 15 January (HS): At least one person was killed and five others sustained injuries in a road accident that occurred in the Patharkandi area of Karimganj district on Thursday.

According to police, the accident took place while a speedy vehicle was climbing a hilly stretch in Patharkandi, during which it lost control and met with an accident. One person died on the spot, while five others were seriously injured in the mishap.

The deceased has been identified as Jamrul Haque.

On receiving information, a police team rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a hospital for medical treatment. Police have registered an FIR in connection with the incident and initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident.---------
